Etoile du Sahel will be seeking revenge when they host Nigeria’s Heartland in their African Champions League Group B encounter on Saturday night.

The Tunisians were humbled 3-0 in the reverse fixture two weeks ago and desperately need a win after successive defeats on the road have left them chasing the group leaders.

It was the heaviest defeat in some time for Etoile in African club competition, but they are coming off some excellent domestic form, including a 5-1 hammering of city rivals Hammam-Sousse last weekend when young striker Ahmed Akaichi netted four times.

Heartland have been imperious in African competition this season though and are arguably the team to beat in this year’s competition now that the likes of Al Ahly have departed the scene.

A first round 10-1 aggregate demolition of Liberia’s Black Star was followed by a comfortable 4-2 two-legged victory over Morocco’s FAR Rabat.

And in the third qualifying round they defeated last season’s Champions League finalists Coton Sport of Cameroon, a tough assignment for the Nigerian side.
